The Adventure is Over

I am waiting for the shuttle to take me to the airport and Shay has left to report for her 1st real duty day. While it has been great to be with her since September 19it does not help my feelings today. I miss her already!

This week we worked in my brothers house. We took 2 loads to the dump and another to the goodwill. I could have worked another week there.

We did get to see friends and I got three karate workouts in while I was there. Saturday we head to Portland for the big HUGE karate event. What fun we had. I have lots of pictures but I can't post because I am on a government computer right now. Maybe tomorrow.

We arrived back at Fairchild yesterday and tried to get her room as ready as we could. 2 trips to Wallmart and we were done for the evening by 9:30. She stayed with me at the lodge and left this morning to report for duty. Did I tell you I miss her already?

I arrived in Tampa at 10:30pm and hopefully the shuttle will get me home before midnight. I am sure my body clock is totally off kilter and I am going to be so tired for the rest of the week.

Hubby will be home this weekend (with the dogs) as he has 5 days off.

Not sure when I will get to see my Shay Shay again but at least we have cell phones and once her household goods get delivered she will have her computer with web cam. Oh yeah, cable and Internet get hooked up this coming weekend. Maybe she will update her blog then as well.

Gotta run.

I'm guessing you will be catching up on sleep in the next few days. I always am a mess going from west coast to east coast time. Glad you had a great time with Shay. And I know the feeling of missing a kid.....everytime I leave Alaska, or Chris leaves here to go home to Alaska, I mope about for days, feeling somehow incomplete after he's gone. It's great to have uch a good relationship with our kids!

Rest up!

michelle... I know this horrible feeling you are dealing with right now, it just hurts! You are blessed to have such a beautiful daughter and share such a close relationship.
I'll be thinking of you.

You and Shay made the trip of a lifetime. I'm so happy you got to do it.

And yeah, I started missing Michael before he even left.

Welcome Home.

You must have posted after I read my blogs...so sorry to be late. I am glad you had a great time, what a memory you two have made. But what bitterness/saddness I am sure will overwhelm you. I miss my son and he is only 6 hours away. Will she get to come home for the holidays? I hope you get some rest, sounds like you are going to be really really tired. Take care dear friend, and ....welcome home!

There is nothing quite as good and as bad to a mom to get to spend time with and then have to say goodbye again to your child, because no matter how grown up or how old they get, they are still your baby (or babies in my mom's case) whether they like it or not.

Thanks for keeping us posted. Now get some rest.

I've missed half the trip so I will have to catch up on reading. I know you're going to miss her. I know you wish you lived in Washington. I'm glad hubby is coming home this weekend. That will help some :)

David's been away 4 weeks and even though he's been home on weekends, I miss him terribly already. Ugh.

Now the election is over, I am going to try and get back to my blogging buddies. Jail is still the jail and I'm still me. No change here LOL
