I just love the Toys for Tots program; I have been Toys for Tots shopping more years than I care to remember. And that The Marines do that is incredible to me. My uncle is a Marine--Vietnam era--but once a Marine, always a Marine :).

I hope you have a good Thanksgiving Holiday, Michelle, even though I know you must be missing Shay so much. Thinking of you!

One of the tv stations here in Okla. City did a story on the collection of Toys For Tots Drive being really down this year, both in toys being donated and in cash donations. Unfortunately in these bad economic times a lot of the little ones that the Marines help by giving a toy are going to be left by the wayside without these Marines working tirelessly to try to raise funds to buy toys and collecting new toys. So every time someone mentions Toys for Tots, if it inspires one more person to give, that will be one more Christmas smile. I don't have anything much, I've had over a thousand dollars worth of work on my little truck in the last couple of months, but I'm going to give to Toys for Tots. It's a campaign that is highly respected and truly appreciated, both by the children and the parents.

Thanks for the reminder.
